Tell that to my computer.
I've been spending significant time using my graphic design skills learning how to develop web sites, picture trails, and blogs on my laptop. With facebook, twitter, web cell phones, and search engines at our fingertips why is it that we still are searching for truth? With knowledge doubling every several months what has it done to enlighten me? When I go online I am know even more aware of how much we haven't morphed into the truth-holders. The flaws of humanity are now under the microscope exponentially online everyday. We seek truth in our laptops - the only hitch is that sometimes they sometimes crash and all the "truth" disappears. Even that can't be trusted. When they are working just punch in the word "truth" on Google and see 234,000 sights with no solid answers.
That's because truth is still in a person - Jesus Christ. He was more than a human laptop who knew the truth - He was the truth. Is it possible that truth is more than an idea found online but that it is only found in God? What Jesus is telling us is that truth exists in God and comes from God. When we search for truth we search for God. Our souls are craving the One who is true.
Truth exists because God can be trusted. Moving from truth to trust is like moving from a search engine to someone I can believe in.
This is at the core of our search for meaning and identity.
